Product development is often about being ahead of market trends and building up a lead of the competitors. We come in as early as the idea phase by creating new designs and improving functionality.
Does the new packaging fit the production apparatus?
We have over twenty years of experience in developing custom solutions and adapting them to existing production facilities. Technical know-how – including concerning production machinery – skill and tight quality control make continuous and all-round optimisation possible. We have numerous examples of significant increases in proponency achieved, which usually helps minimise the number of errors.

Getting started?
Good dialogue is a good start. What does packaging need to be able to do? Does it have multiple purposes or functions? How will it differ from previous models or a competitive product? Detailed research is used to create a 3D illustration that can provide the basis for the next step. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to feel the product and see it in action.
Can progress be a challenge?
Starting up production of a new product requires commitment from the entire organisation. That’s why we involve everyone in the process – from purchasing manager to the employee on the packaging line.

The raw material for salad trays developed for Mills is A-PET/EVOH/PE. EVOH’s effectiveness as a barrier helps increase the shelf life of the product. The PE layer improves the ‘weldability’ of the tray and the thin layer of film peeled off after the lid sticks 100% to the lip of the tray, increasing airtightness.
